The Inauguration of Nomads Golf Club Melbourne
The Nomads Golf Club of Australia was proudly inaugurated in December 2003 at its first Annual General Meeting. Founded on the values and traditions of the original Nomads Golf Clubs in South Africa and New Zealand, our club continues to uphold their spirit of camaraderie, community, and charitable giving through the game of golf.
As the club has grown, so too has its reach. In 2026, the Melbourne Chapter was officially established, expanding our Nomadic footprint and strengthening our presence across Australia.
Our purpose is simple: to bring together like-minded golf enthusiasts who enjoy the game, value fellowship, embrace the spirit of giving, and are passionate about promoting junior golf. Supporting the development of young players remains a key part of our mission. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of golfers and ensuring the traditions and values of the game continue for years to come.
The club operates under a structured Constitution that reflects the heritage and principles of the Nomads movement. A dedicated committee, elected annually by the membership, provides leadership and direction for the club.
The committee meets monthly to oversee the administration, growth, and effective operation of the club. These meetings help maintain the highest standards across our competitions, venues, governance, and member experience.
In true Nomads tradition, charitable giving plays a central role in everything we do. Each year, the Vice-Captain nominates a charitable organisation to be the focus of the club’s fundraising efforts. With the support of the committee and members, funds are raised throughout the year and formally presented to the chosen charity.
The Nomads Golf Club of Australia is more than a golf club—it is a community of members who share a passion for golf, value friendship and fellowship, support worthy causes, and contribute to the future of the game.
